    Glasses or contacts on duty??

I wear glasses and i am thinking of joing the Phoenix PD when I get out of the Navy. For those officers that need glasses is it uncomfortable during chases or struggles.
    Thanks for your time.

I wear soft contact lenses and have never had a problem.

I've had sunglasses fall off during a struggle, but that hasn't really been a problem either.

As long as you are not totally blind without them, you should be fine. For moe than 10 years I wore contacts or glasses on duty... that is to include while on swat callouts and for a tour in Iraq.

I wear glasses for the impact protection anyway, might as well have prescription ones. ;)

I tell BGs all the time that I wear glasses so they won't punch me in the face... ("you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?" - I doubt anyone prescribes to that anymore, lol)

I'd Prefer no glasses (e.g. Lasik) to wearing glasses...

I got lasered & it has been great. It helps with riot helmets & respirators. I got by wearing glasses but I much prefer not wearing them.
