We have a public intox law. That's what we use to charge them and keep them in jail for 5 or 6 hours until sober. The charge itself is written out on a ticket and is pre-payable like a speeding ticket.

Same here. Public Drunk carries a MAX fine of $300 and or up to 90 days. Is a summary cite. 99% are released the next day and than have to see the District Court Judge within 10 days to find out what their fine and any possible additional jail time will be.

Wasn't it one f the Blue Colar Comedy Tour guys that said something like..

"I was thrown out of a bar and the police arrested me for drunk in public. I told them I wasn't drunk in public, I was drunk in a bar. They threw me into public!!!" :D:D
