    past drug use

i am 18 and am very very interested in the career of lawenforcement. in my past i have used the drug of salvia because i was intrigued by the idea of doing something out of the norm that was still legal. obviously, i now know that the policy of becoming a police officer includes never using a hallucinogen. there is debate back and forth on whether or not salvia is a hallucinogen, and so i am wanting to know if i have completely screwed myself for law enforcement? i cant find a list of what drugs specifically police agencies do not allow. salvia is the only thing i have ever tried... because of its "legality." please can some one help?

The real question is why would you engage in questionable behavior if you wanted to be a cop?

You may indeed be DQ'd for your behavior. What a dumb way to screw up your chances at a great career.

wheter it's on the "list" does not matter. You are using a mind altering drug. Tells us a lot, none of it good.

Heck, smoking cat litter is legal too but it's not going to be a positive on your resume.
Don't try and outweird me, I find weirder things than you in my breakfast burrito.

You may not be aware, but even though it is not currently included in the Federal Controlled Substances Act, several states have passed their own laws making Salvia Divinorum illegal. (BTW: Virginia's law takes effect July 1, 2008, click HERE for details.)

Maybe it's legal where you live, but we average at least "litter huffer" arrest every shift.

What's really funny is when the huffers run out of clean kitty litter, and they start digging in the litter box for used stuff.
