Question Is it not against the law to carry a knife...?

Besides bringing it to schools or airports, is it ok to keep a knife on you for protection?

Man, getting specific questions isn't in the cards this week is it?
    ;)
You are going to have to choose jurisdiction, your age, type/size of knife, and what you consider "Self Defense".

Generally, I'd say it's a very good idea to leave the damn thing at home. Knife fights are not like the movies.
Don't try and outweird me, I find weirder things than you in my breakfast burrito.

Sorry officer, I had no idea about all those requirements! What about brass knuckles? Is it ok to have those on you as well? I don't live in the safest area and I'm not the biggest guy so I would like to have the upper hand if I get pounced on.

Unless you KNOW HOW TO USE A KNIFE , it wont be of much benefit to you and could be considered a wepaon depending on what and where.

Brass knuckles are most certainly a prohibited offensive weapon. Would be a Misd 1st here and a guaranteed trip to the pokey.

Why not look into the legality of some 10% pepper foam / spray ? It is cheap and in most every state is not a weapon.
