Chiefs decision now

So from all the cops I know and it is many, I am told that you are pretty much hired once the background investigator comes to your house. Unless something major comes up with your neighbors or something, you are good to go. My file is complete and is going to the chief for a yes or no decision. Are applicants that make it this far usually good to go?

There is no stage in the hiring process where you are guaranteed anything.

You could flunk the last stage just as easily as the first stage.

Usually there's a better chance after your BI starts because the agency is now investing more money and time in you. Who knows what can come up in a background though and it would also depend on if the agency has any automatic DQ's.
