    Police Call Worthy?

First post, so if I posted in the wrong forum, I'm sorry!

I live in Orlando, a huge city with many...weirdos. Sometimes just driving to and from work I see crazy things and am tempted to call the police to let them know... am I wrong in doing so? Some examples are:

    - A man walking (drunkenly) down the middle of a MAIN road that still had plenty of traffic on it

-Two kids wrestling at 2am on a dark (but well-used) road (no streetlamps) where the speedlimit is 55 and I had to swerve around them at the last minute

Both times I did not call 911 (in my opinion 911 is for dire emergencies) but I called the Sheriffs office and both times the operator on the phone acted like *I* was the lunatic for calling these things in. For some reason I attract things like this and I know in the future I will see more things like this and I'm wondering if I am in the right for calling them in.

As a side question, I also gave them landmarks if I didn't know the exact location and they had no idea where I was talking about even though the landmarks are fairly well-known. What are other things I should try to tell the operator to give them a better idea of where to send the deputies?

    Thanks and stay safe all.

No, you wouldn't be wrong to report either of those incidents.

You need to give a numerical address along with the street name. Dispatchers can't send a car to a location near a landmark that YOU are familar with, especially those departments that dispatch non-emergency calls via a CAD system.
