I assure you, I am a responsible gun owner, and just like all of you, LEO's or not, a human being; and as such, fall short of 100% perfection in my carrying out of that responsibility. Perfection is the goal. Usually not the reality for human beings, including LEO's.

That was a pretty slick ad hominem attack, by calling me "moron" instead of my chosen user name, there, SixPack. If, after discovering the advice to report it, my choice to wait the 3 more days until this weekend makes it a "lax attitude", you're welcome to that opinion.
Also, you mis-quoted me. I did NOT say "I'm going to take a chance and do this on my own timeline", which YOU placed in quotation marks. You can re-read my post, or take my word for it that it says "I'm going to take the risk of doing it on my timeline, though." Take the risk. Another way of saying: Assume the Responsibility for the choice. ;)

I came here to this forum, took the time to register, honestly and courteously sought advice on how to go about doing the right thing. Then, I agree to go and "do the right thing" but it's not on your timeline, so that makes me a lax, irresponsible gun owner, and makes you an unreasonable, bellicose power-hungy jackbooted thug.
...but I DON'T really believe that about you, SuperSix 5, and I would be really disappointed to discover that you really believe the mud being slung at me, given my seeking out advice on how to go about doing the right thing.

Thanks for the well-wishes. That's really nice of you, sir! If it took me 3 extra days to report it because of my work schedule, and it turns out badly like you hope, then I hope they file suit, too, and bury me under the dungeon for negligence. Geez. I'll make you a Glamor License plate while I'm in the pokey.
My only comment - which has nothing to do with the actual topic - is "How did droolingmoron get to use so many smiley's in his last post?" ..... I thought 2 was the limit .... has that changed too ???

Try to spin it back on me all you'd like, but it'll never be MY fault you left your gun under your seat. It'll never be MY fault you couldn't remember, "Hey I was at the range, and never brought my gun into the house." Likewise, it'll never be my fault that you don't have the common sense to realize "Hey, something's been taken from me, I should call the police."
It won't be my fault that there's been a time laspe in the reporting of the crime, making it that much more difficult to resolve since statistically, cold crimes are harder to close.

But what do I know, it's not like I do this for a living, right? Shame on me for wanting one more firearm off the street out of the hands of a criminal. How dare I take offense that a person's inactions may ultimately lead to the loss of life of someone innocent.

Red rep for me around from everyone, please.

I think that the image limit has been lifted or broadened. I recently saw a post that had about 6 photos in the same post. I noticed it a few weeks ago now when I quoted someone and forgot to remove their smileys and posted my own.

If someone stole your car, would you wait 3-5 days before calling it in?

A vehicle is a 3000lb bullet, and most owners report it as soon as they notice it. Is it because of the differences in intrinsic value? You must not love your gun that much or care about ever getting it back. You know what? You might as well not even file now...it's already been pawned or traded for crack. You'll never see it again and if you are lucky, it'll never be used in a crime in which you might be liable for something.

Some priorities should be rearranged when something like this happens. Most employers would give you an extra 15-20 minutes to get the report filed, especially when you tell them that a weapon was stolen from you.

Then again, like SuperSix said...what do we know.

Another person posting that they screwed up and looking for someone to make them feel better. A person who posts as "droolingmoron" shouldn't act so shocked to receive negative responses.

This reminds me of a comedy skit...

So...if I happen to run into that gun the next day after it " turned up missing" , ran a check for stolen on it and of course it came back as NOT stolen.

THEN...it was at any time after that used in a crime etc..YOU will look very badly.

We are talking about a missing and HIGHLY presumed stolen deadly weapon that is registered to YOU.

That's friggen awesome. Thanx for posting it. I've been wanting to download that since I saw it on his show. Aside from the Political slant, its funny as hell.

Now, can somebody help me out with downloading it to my computer or is it protected?

Ah I'm not sure how to DL it. I recall Big had a post about it before. If you find out LMK, I want to save it too.
