Duty Belt arrangement

Going to have to fit a TASER on my left front somehow in the very near future so some rearranging will be happening.

I'm a big boy (wear a 38 right now) so space really isnt an issue, but I'm dropping some pounds and getting back into Army shape so we'll see how things work out.

I have NO room on belt! To the point my Lt told me I need to start eating fast food -joking of course. I have a 28 in waist at 5-11. I'm lucky to get 4 belt keepers on.

From right to left:

OC pouch
keeper -not hooked into inner belt.

Cuff case -going to get traded for a strap to make more room

And some how or another I am going to find room for a leatherman on there. I kid you not all my gear is touching .... I've even had comments from the general public about how there is no way I could fit one more item on my belt if i needed to.

I'm not including where I place my keepers, my key ring (between the radio and first set of handcuffs), or my baton ring (behind the ASP), since they take up so little room.

When I have the belt on, I usually push the handcuff cases as far apart as possible, and that way they aren't poking me in the back when I sit down. Other than that, I keep the area around my gun clear because I don't like the idea of there being anything near my service weapon.

Everything else I need is either in various pockets on my uniform, or in my car.

Why would you wear a keeper and not hook it to the inner belt? :confused:

As to the original post, with a waist that small you're going to have to get used to having equipment in the small of your back.

From a lefty's point of view.

Going from buckle to the left:

Mag pouch pointing to the right (for right hand to draw mags)
silent key thingy
belt keep
holster
belt keep (try to have a belt keep in front of and behind your weapon to secure it for a smooth draw)
flash light pouch (stinger)
Small of back 2 belt keeps

Buckle to the right:

handcuff case
belt keep
asp
radio
leatherman



In the back I only have 2 belt keeps. Take my advice and try as hard as you can to keep your gear away from the small of your back if you sit in a vehicle all day. It will take years, but after a while you will have kidney and back problems. And something as small as a handcuff case will do damage over time.

I know for all of you skinny people out there it's not possible but at least try to minimize the damage done.

Lets see, from age 18 to about 32, I was a 28. Then i started to develop the middle-age spread. Now, at 54, I'm at either 31 or 32" depending on the cut of the pants. :p You gotta stay in shape...... or be graced with a metabolism that burns off everything you eat as you're chewing it. I have the latter. ;)

I'm a lefty, and I wear going left from my buckle, my mag pouch, a keeper which I double up by hanging a key ring clip on it, holster, keeper, double cuff case, keeper, glove pouch, baton ring (in which I carry a stinger flashlight), radio pouch, OC pouch, cellphone pouch. I have about 4" of space in the small of my back and there isn't any other space to speak of.

If we ever get Tasers or anything else, I'm going to have to look at some kind of drop-thingy for the Taser holster.
