Need some info on a Stalker

Hello,
I have a female friend who was married and now divorced to an abuse guy who physically beat her several times. Things got so bad she had too moved to GA to get away from him. She left most everything she had on California just to start fresh. However, the guy stills call her at least five times a day. When she blocks a number, he calls her from a different place. Somehow he found out where she lives in GA. This nut even described the outside of her house. He told her he was coming to take her back to California by force. She is so scared that he is coming to GA during his vacation time in May. I have been staying out her house at night to protect her. He already had protective order and restraint order against him in California. When she moved to GA she contacted the local police department and advised them of the restraint order in California. I am just looking for some information how I can help her. I don’t want to see her get hurt or killed by this nut.

Probably the only thing you can do is go to the local courthouse and see if she needs to have a restraining order put in place in Georgia. Could also give local Law Enforcement a call and see if what's been going on accounts to stalking in your respective jurisdiction.

In most jurisdictions the charge of "stalking" is a very difficult to prove.

Violation of protective orders are pretty easy to gather evidence on and to prove.

Additionally, as your friend is discovering, it is very difficult to 'disappear' from the world in this day-and-age of technology.

Depending on how deeply you wish to get involved, you can establish phone service for her in your name and then the ex will have more trouble calling her. Let the police do the law enforcement work and support your friend in other ways.
