    Issues

    I am currently into the EMS field, and pursuing my bachelor's in nursing. I have thought about getting a law degree some day as well. I have outstanding grades, never been pulled over, and have an otherwise spotless record except two issues;

    I tried to smoke marijuana when I was 14. I didn't even know what it was, and I was kind of naive, but I did it nonetheless.

    I have a herniated disc in my lower back, but I haven't had back problems for a couple years now.

    Should I still be considering police work? or possibly the FBI after getting my law degree?

    The big problem I see is the herniated disc. If you can pass a physical agility test and a med eval, you'll probably be fine, but I'm not a Dr., so I can't make that call.

    Trying MJ once at age 14 won't kill your chances, so I wouldn't sweat that. One question I have, what do you mean by "law degree"? If you mean a juris doctorate, it could certainly help you with FBI, but you'll also need relevant law experience to boot. A JD won't hurt you with local/state LE either.

    A criminal justice degree, on the other hand, may help you with local/state LE, but that coupled with EMS won't qualify you for any critical skills needed by the FBI presently.

    Dont worry about the pot. As was said, you will have to pass the physical test, and a physical.
