As REAL police, do you guys/girls find TV shows like Reno 911 (Comedy Central), and Assy McGee (Adult Swim/Cartoon Network) offensive, or do you find them entertaining? I have been curious about this for a while, and actually a couple of times I have shifted conversation topics from these shows to something else when a cop entered the room I was in in order to avoid pissing him off. Thanks

I do not have a problem with those shows. I really haven't seen the second show you named, but I have seen Reno 911 many times and find it to be funny at times.

I used really like Reno 911. However, it seems like the same basic theme is used over and over, and it's not nearly as funny as it used to be. I certainly don't find the humor to be offensive though; and I don't suspect any cop would be thin-skinned enough to be offended by it. Haven't heard of the other show until now, though.

There are a # of police shows that some find offensive but I enjoy for the entertainment value. The Shield and Reno 911 mainly and the Super Troopers movie even though Im a trooper I didnt find it or the other shows degrading to LE. It is what it is..........entertainment.

Assy McGee is really funny. You can find some episodes on YouTube if you are interested. It is about an *** (literally) that is a cop (probably because Adult Swim loves *** lol) that loves to use his gun.
