Duty Gloves

I'm just wondering if anyone wears/uses duty gloves?

I know several people with USBP who do and depending on what my duties are for the day I at least have a pair with me.

Most of the time I'm at the traffic checkpoint and don't like to wear them when working with my service K9 but, when I'm working in the brush, climbing fences, catching aliens, and then searching them I like to have them.

Gloves: gotta have 'em.

Winter: leather, short wrist, Kevlar lined.
Summer: Neoprene

I carry 2 pairs in the winter, 1 in the summer. Winter glvoes are black leather with thinsulate. Pretty warm. Other gloves are my perp gloves, leather & neoprene lined. Slash/puncture resistant.

I also carry multiple pairs of latex gloves for medical calls. Don't want to get that blood on me.

I carry atleast 1 pair of latex on my belt at all times and a pair of leather search gloves in a cargo pocket.

Hatch, neoprene on the back and I think lambs skin on the front.

Oakley, with the reinforced carbon fiber knuckles. I haven't had a chance to use them, yet. I am told they leave one hell of a mark.

I've seen the oakley's but don't want to spend the money on a pair.

I only wear latex gloves when I'm searching a person or car. Otherwise, I'm going commando! :p

I always carry a pair of the puncture-resistant kind. Not just for searches but if I'm responding to an inmate fight I don't want to get my hands all cut up.

I always keep a pair in each bag, one in my locker and at least one pair in my car.... Even though I work in an office, the way CBP works I could end up out on the line or back at the exam dock tearing apart vehicles, trucks or cargo at anytime. They frequently will pull people from my position and put us to work if the trucks get too backed up. I keep them in my car now too because I stopped at a bad accident once that happened right in front of me and the vehicle caught fire. I busted out a window and pulled out the occupant and cut my hands up breaking the window. Because of that, even though it's rather rare, I keep a pair of stab resistant gloves and a window punch in my front console where I can grab them and go... just in case!
