Hello All,

I'm new to this forum and interested in persuing a career in law enforcement at the federal or local level. I'm 21 years of age, Bosnian, and have resided in the US for the past seven years.

I just have a question about how a something may effect my hiring process. 1) When I was 11 years old, I was given a "pill" of questionable substance and I used it. I'm not sure as to what it was. I am wondering how this would affect my BI and what the hiring agency may view this. I have good credit, and have never had so much as a speeding violation.

If the pill is the worst that you can think about popping up in your BI, don't worry.

First things first. For all federal positions and the vast majority of State and local positions, you will first need to be a U.S. citizen.

Okay, since you identified yourself as Bosnian, BIG thought you to be a permanent resident and not a U.S. Citizen.

Bosnia being once being a communist nation, my father was once affiliated with the party. Would this adversly affect me if it were to come up in say an 1811 hiring process?

Also I have little college credit right now. I speak Slavic, would this give preference to an FBI SA slot?

Any perceived sins of the father are not held against the son.

(Although I can think of a few poaching families I would like to string up, simply for what the father taught the son...:eek: )

If the FBI specifically advertises a need for Slavic speaking agents, yes it will help you.
