Since I couldnt comment on the virginia misdemeanor or traffic thing, I guess I am looking for clarification about something "jarobins" mentioned. Do misdemeanors show up on a criminal background check? And if you have a misdemeanor can you get your record expunged? Thanks all.

Yes they show up. And it depends on the situation. With that being said, what is the situation?

Here (Virginia) it depends on what the misdemeanor was and if you were arrested and fingerprinted. If you were fingerprinted then it will show up on a criminal background check. However, any normal background check would also include running your driving record and thus catch any driving related misdemeanors that aren't on your criminal history. Make sense?

no situation, just curious. I was never arrested or fingerprinted, just paid a fine and restitution for a bad check, thats all. Thanks for the answer

thats cool, that is really my only infraction besides having my license suspended at one time for failure to pay a ticket on time which i kinda regret. That is what I was curious about is whether or not it would show up since it was a misdemeanor, but since it does, thats fine. Thanks anyways

A bad Check conviction is a bad thing when your BI comes across it...ranks up there with bad credit depending on how long ago it happend could disqualify in some departments....
