no
Although any LEO that doesn't feel like having their 'invisible' car hit will probably have their lights on, unless they're off the road. I'm not aware of any rule that forces then to use their lights in this state.
at night i did notice this. crusiers would be parked either off the side of the road or in someone's driveway with parking lights on. So... there is this one LEO I see all the time in this one spot - he's actually parked on someone's lawn underneath these trees. He's there every other month like clock work. Its located on a downhill sloped road...he always has his parking lights on at night.
Tiger is here for Mac!
Maybe they have their parking lights on so that some of their interior lights will be on. I don't know, was just a thought.

Maybe he is giving you the motorist an extra chance to notice him. He could also be writing reports. We cant run speed enforcement 8 hrs a day. So we try to sit and be a VISIBLE deterrent and look as though we are running. You would be suprised how many people have done dumb things in front of me while I was in a marked unit.

Maybe he stepped out of the car and went into the bushes to pee, and he wants to be able to see where the car is when he comes back to it.
And you know that has gotta be true! LOLOriginally posted by Stump

By the way, if its a speed trap, what is the bait? I don't get the 'trap' part.
Of course thats true Zen, and if you pull into your driveway before he stops you he can't give you a ticket either. So there

I thought keys had to be out of the ignition, or something along those lines... to show that the person had no access to drive the car. At least that is what I was always told...
That will work on non-owned private property. Kinda like a kings X. Also they have to show you the radar and teach you how it works, or you can just ignore the ticket. These are little known facts.

I know if you show that one of your parents had gotten a speeding ticket, that you could get off with a warning. After all, its not your fault you have a 'speeding' genetic marker.
There were two cars on the freeway under an overpass one guy was outside aiming some kind of device at me and the other officer was in his car pointed in the direction of traffic. It was about 11:45 pm. I was doing the limit and didn't get pulled over.
Were they all black cars? I heard the feds are doing some type of testing of a new device for this alleged homeland security act.

I drove to work today and saw lots of cars. A few of them were black. Should I be scared?
