How do you feel about the 1994 Assault Weapon Ban

What is your opinion on this piece of unconstitutional legislation? Do you want it to sunset? Do you want a stricter version?

A question specific to all who think that it should be stricter or should not be allowed to sunset is this, Looking at the original intent of the US Constitution and the fact that all LEO’s took an oath to up hold the Constitution how can you support this kind of crap? And if you don't think it is protected I am more than willing to debate it with you

And for all of the LEO's who take there Oath seriously and didn't just walk through the motioins thanks for supporting the right to keep and bear arms. Please try to show your fellow officers that the 1994 AWB is wrong and write your representatives. I hate to say it but if a group of Police Officers stood up to fight the AWB it would be gone in a heart beat.

One of the more useless pieces of "Feel Good" legislation to come out of the clinton era.

Leaving aside any consitutional issues with it, or any questions as to whether it did anything meaningful, it was pointless, because it banned weapons based essentially on looks.

I think it would be political suicide for Bush to extend the ban. He's already in enough hot water from the Democrats. The last thing he needs to do is piss off his supporters.

You want crap!? How about the Canadian gun registration laws that went into effect almost 2 yrs ago and still have not done anything but go over budget by 2000%. Anyone want to guess if I have any unregistered firearms ;-)?
