    questions about being a cop

I think looking into law enforcement for the perks that you listed, you'll never make it. No normal cop has ever thought about being a cop for those reasons. This has to be in your blood and you really have to want it or you won't make it. It takes a rare breed to be a cop and the ones that stay employed over 5 years or more are a rare breed.

I don't ever want to become that mother.
Wasn't that the one where the father had various affairs, admitted he wasn't involved in his daughter's lives, and in front of the youngest said the pregnant daughter was his favorite?

What are your views on women in Policing?

We've had this discussion a couple of times on this forum, once regarding women in LE and another (more recent) time regarding women in the military. I think women shouldn't be on the front line in war and in LE.

Look in the military section and there's a discussion on "women in the military". I have no idea where the other thread is.....it was awhile ago. TX is great at pulling up old threads...hint hint.

    stress?

If you quit being an Engineer because the "backstabbing and politics were too stressful", how are you going to function as a cop? Instead of sitting at a desk drawing, you will be dispatched to bar fights, fatal traffic crashes, domesitc assaults, child abuses etc. Then, when you get back to the PD, you get the backstabbing and politics. All for a lot less cash than an engineer makes. This is why they call it "public service".

DC - Guess I'll have to wait until next year for you to show me around town. That way you can treat me in the way to which I wish to become accustomed. :D

    And politics happen everywhere.
