Has anyone on the board ever tested with this agency, I know for a fact that this agency is currently short on officers and has been for a while. Are they currently having some sort of problems with their recruitment drive, or is it that not enough people are testing with them. I know they should be testing in my city sometime in december thats why i asked. Anyone that knows anything about the agency, i will be glad to hear

I am a little more than half way through he process. (I think) The written test is very difficult. When I took it there were 16 of us total. When we finished for the day there were 9 of us left. 6 failed the written test and one failed the fitness test.

So far I really like the department, at least what I have seen of it. All the officers that I have delt with have been very professional and helpfull.

I think the memory portion got most of the people. We were first given a page of info that you might see on a role call momo. We had 10 minutes to look it over and it was taken away. Next the test administrator read another two pages of role call stuff. Things like officer smiths new partner is jones and if you want to volunteer for this then see so and so. The first part of the test was on the page we read and the info that was read to us. The rest of the test was reading comp, spelling, grammer. the usual stuff.

Most tests are designed to test certain qualities that are desirable in LEO's. They are also used to make sure that the canidates have enough intelligence to make it through all the classes that the academy teaches. Some departments use a straight up GED test. Others (like Richmond VA or Louisville KY )use more specially geared tests. They are very challenging.
