Only at a dispatcher, not the general public.

anybody happen to think that maybe the poor soul was stuck at that same post for hours on end and has already dealt with dozens of morons who can't follow directions. For you guys out there on patrol, come on. You know what I'm talking about. Traffic details suck and they only get worse the longer your there.

At a traffic detail last year, this lady sped through a closed intersection with people all around it, a reserve took a water bottle and chucked it at the car...went through the driver door window and landed in the passenger seat. Funniest thing ever.

about the original post: i think for being hit by a car the officer was reacted too calmly. personally i would have walked slowly to my police car (so she would thinks it all good and drive off) then flip it around and slap her with hit n' run. hit n' runs are bad but its gotta be worse if you do it on a leo

I watched a Jefferson Parish Deputy snap once when we stopped in a no parking zone while working. When we came back, there was a boot on his front wheel. He went crazy and started yanking on it and kicking it and trying to pull it off of the wheel, scraming like a madman. We kept trying to tell him that you couldn't pull one of those boots off.

Next thing we knew, he got the thing loose, and then threw it into the middle of the road. And the funny thing was, it was put on by his own department.

One thing about traffic control to divert people is that you get so busy telling people where to go... that we never have the time to kick the a$$ of those that ignore your command.

I lost it once last summer. While blocking the street for a Bike race in the street ... I was telling the cars to make a rigth turn to avoid Bicycles going down the hill and facing them. All day we get **** from resident that are unhappy about their itinerary change... Then the "supreme dumb" shows up...

An old lady (not to say that all old are dumb however)...!!! I block the road ... gave her a clear order to turn rigth before checking if bicycles are coming down(att appx 50mph/h)... She beggin to turn.... Then just as I tougth she was gone..... she kept going beside me and faced 2 bikers coming down the hill riding quite fast.
She was so busy avoiding me that she did not notice the bike ...
Only at the last minute she saw them and it went a few inchs away from a major collision...

I lost it ... I screamed at her ... I admit ... I was out of respect for her now... How can someone ignore a LEO order without knowing why he is blocking the road and keep going with all the risk it involves...

ON top I was so busy ... Did'nt have time to write her down.... So it was twice more frustrating... I would have squeezed her neck ... And still wish I could see her on the road today so I could tell her more of my 02C ....
I think people don't realize that if an offcier is blocking a road... there is a reason behind it... In my case it almost got tw bikers killed... so I think I'm human to loose it for such a dumb move ....

I forced my baton through a limo driver's window to get him to stop.....all the lights, cones, and people in the road wasn't enough for him to see the road was closed. I tried to stop him but he decided to drive around me.....I even tried tapping the top of the car with my hand, then baton........I hit the window not trying to break it, but it did. Oh well, he said he didn't have the time to go all the way around or deal with me right now. I wasn't going to let him keep driving through the crowd of people...there was a reason we always close the road. He went to jail.

I believe in the serious butt chewing or ticket/jail. I don't do both. I have before, but keep the chewing to a minimum. Sometimes you can't help but ask a few loaded questions.

I had a lady almost take me out at an accident scene, she was doing about 65 in a 45 on a curve after it had just rained and took out the car in front of her which I just made the barrier to avoid getting hit. I was so pissed I knew if I talked to her I would go off. I walked up to her asked her for her license and her keys. She didn't say a word, my expression must have been enough for her to realize I was a lil' upset.
