Check out that site. It goes through practically every part of the movie and shows how almost everything Moore said was bull**** - much more than just the Heston interview. Make sure to check out all the links, too.
I feel cheated. I didn't like Moore before, and I hate it even more now. That is ridiculous that one can get away with something like that.

My heart sinks everytime I have to ship one of his books. I just know someone out there will believe every word he says in those things. Oh yeah and I'm sick of looking at his ugly mug on the cover of all those books. *gag* I'm surprised at the large following he has.

I'd rather ride in the city for sure. My brother's next door neighbor is a trooper, but I don't want to ride with them. If I can't decide by Oct, I'll just go with that guy. He's nice enough. Why wouldn't I want to ride Hartford? I would want a place that is busy...

You have a friend who is a sheep? LOL
I hear there is a lot of shootings that go unreported. Like my friends who live there said. One night they heard pop pop pop and people screaming and yelling for help. No cops ever showed and no one talks about it. Its like - oh well someone pulled out a handgun and fired a bunch of shots in the air, no big deal. The wildwest!

Well if you do ride with a Hartford cop it should prove very interesting. Especially at night time. But according to the news the cops do not do anything but sit in their cruisers and look tough. When something happens they kind of drive away?????? Its strange. So I don't know what you'd see if you rode along with one of them. The media is giving the impression the Hartford police are scared to combat crime. Very weird.

edit --- btw if you ride with the Trooper it might be a little boring. I use to "see" a female state trooper (no names here!) that had a patrol on I-95/RT-9 area. She said its nothing like what the city cops have to do but she was not complaining. So I'm sure if you do a ride a long in Hartford you will see action. I wish COPS would do a show on them!

Add 6 more to Oakland's count.

They are on tract to beat their all time record of 133. What is the answer? There is no one size fits all answer. Economic development instead of political rheteroic and backstabbing. 10 years ago, East Palo Alto had the highest homicide rate in the country. Now they have fewer than 20 a year (still too high). The answer for them was jobs - the community pulled together and managed to attracted IKEA, Sun Micro, Raytheon, and a few other big box companies with agreements that they would consider citizens of the city first in employment. Oakland needs to get rid of Brown and get a businessperson as Mayor...

    Just my two..

Chicago had 667 murders in 2002, once again the highest in the nation. Aparently, the rate is lower so far this year, but it is still high

That is a lot but there are only 118,000 people in this city. The police are understaffed and undergunned as my friend who is on the regional SWAT team says they have encountered thugs with HK MP5K's, semi-auto 12" barrel shotguns, Tec-9's, and 50AE Desert Eagle pistols (what thug could handle one of those????). They have no idea where they get these tools. They think from NYC.

96 murders so far this year in Oakland, California. A city of just under 350,000 people. Over 60% occurred in a 2 square mile area in and around Eastmont Mall. (of course drug related).

We have surpassed the number of murders already compared to last year.
