    Cops doing wrong.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a problem, I live in New York. The cops that patrol on foot have like a place they can take a break and lay low anytime. Should i just keep it to myself or notify some higher authority within the Police Department. This is kind of hard for me because i really want to become a cop.

Once I saw a police officer laugh whilst on duty, surely this is a sacking offence?

yeah "piking" on other cops is sure going to get you in that department real fast.

Its always sad when someone sees an officer taking a break and they automatically assume they have been doing that all day. Yeah we get to take breaks and yes we take advantage of the slow days, because they come far and few between. Geez leave the damn poor guys alone!!! It is not enough they have to put up with all the garbage on the street and then have to worry about some wannabe going to be a tattle tail because a guy wants to take a break

get a life and stop stalking cops

As far as cops getting discounts, I worked at a restarurant where police members got the employee discount (1/2 price food) and I know other places around town do the same. Personally I think it is a smart move on a restaurant or a place like Tim Hortons part to give Police officers a discount and/or free menu because it establishes a regular police presence at their place...

Where Tim Hortons would maybe be a good place for someone to rob at 3am (always busy throughout the night, bound to be some cash there, right?) the one by my place usually has a cop car or 4 parked there at some time through the night , and I almost always see one or two when I walk by at 4:30am to go to work.

Only an idiot would rob that place when at any time anywhere from one to four RCMP cruisers might pull in. And as far as breaks go...there the best part of anyones shift.

    Anyways that's my $0.02

Why in the world would you go and tell on some PO's taking a break on duty?

Are you going to call the construction companies when you see one man working and the rest of the men standing around and watching?

How about the guys who stopped cutting the grass to get a drink of water?

How about me, who is at work and on the internet typing this right now?

I work road construction, and we often have to sit and watch the other guys doing their job because things need to be in order. We get complaints and comments all the time about slacking off. I know what its like, and I sure won't be one to rat on another officers "slacking" habits. I don't know why they are sitting there, they could have just gotten two minutes before that.

a police officer should NOT talk, take any break, nor lunch. They should work hard to keep us safe...isn't it funny?

I was wondering if I should call on those damn firefighters. Every time I drive by at night, they're sleeping. And when I swing by in the daytime they are kicked back in their recliners watching fishing shows.

Shouldn't they be out preventing fires or something? Can't they patrol for smoke rising into the sky? Maybe they could help little old ladys cross the street safely.

Damn...I chose the wrong career. Is it too late to lateral?

Aren't you just the typical citizen that has a nice perky job with guaranteed breaks during your work shift as well as at least a half an hour for lunch. Give me a frickin' break. Did you ever think that we don't get guaranteed breaks at work and if all is quiet, you have to take advantage of it and actually feed yourself(required for human survival) Stop and think for once, that those guys probably busted their rear ends for last few hours and need to take a break. If you have that type of attitude to turn cops in, do us all a favor think about another career
