    Emergency speeding (restroom time)

Ok, tough scenerio here. Your in the middle of no where, you have a REALLY bad stomach cramp, you realize you have 2 minutes before you have to go:eek: So your flying down the road to get to the nearest restrooms. And bam, your pulled over for speeding, no sitting in the car makes things more tense, and you HAVE to go now!!! What do you do? Will the officer let you "go in the woods?", what if you never pulled over and just kept driving to the nearest restroom, hopped out of the car and took "care of business?" What would happen. I've never had this happen to me, but it always crossed my mind, what would happen in these situations. I know i've had to "fly" to the nearest facilities a few times, and if i got pulled over, i'd be done for in more ways than one. I know its an odd question, but what would be the outcome?

i think if you explain to teh officer what was going on, you might be ok. however bear in mind that as cops we hear all sorts of excuses. i just arrested a guy saturday for dwi that actually told his step daughter to pretend she was having stomach pain and was en route to the hospital. he was arrested, and she told the truth. i would not reccomend just to keep driving. chances are by the time it was all over with, you would end up staining your pants one way or the other! lol

For sure don't not stop... that will only cause a couple glocks to be thrown up in your face when you do finally stop and you probably will cause a mess anyway LOL

I've had people tell me they have to use the restroom, then I'll just turn around and ask them why they didn't stop at the gas station at the exit a couple miles back... or if that is closed, I'll point to the tree to see how bad they have to go which will tell me if they are telling the truth or not.. most all the sudden dont' have to go that bad :D If thy do run to a tree, then its pretty much a warning they are given as I know what it feels like to be out in the middle of no where about to wet yourself.

Clocked a school bus driver going uphill at 42 mph in a 25 zone with this excuse. Problem is she had a number of other places to stop and didn't. On the other hand I had a DUI tell me this as I stopped him in his own driveway who promptly dropped his pants in his front yard and did the nasty thing right in front of me. He then pulled his pants back up as though nothing happened and went on to fail my field tests.

I suggest stopping, plead your case. I could live with a short trip to the woods but it has never happened to me in 21 yrs.

most of the time when people say that, you can look behind you and see 15 places they could've stopped. two friends of mine followed a lady to the next convenience store. when she was done, they had her ticket ready.

unless you have an emergency requiring an ambulance, i'm probably not going to have any pity on you.

I got caught short one time because I was looking for a rest stop. I didn't want to go for a McP!ss (where you use a fast food restaurant toilet, but don't buy food) so I skipped all the regular off-ramps.

Finally it got unbearable and I was about to pull off the side fo the freeway and I saw a BP. I'm glad that guys don't have to worry about the state of the toilet when we pee, but for you girls out there this place totally had a 6" hover factor. :D

stopped a vehicle for speeding and a red light violation. ask the driver what in the hell he is doing and his repsonse is, "Officer I have to **** big time" I took as an excuse and went back to my squad to check vehicle/driver info. I look up and all of a sudden see his arms flailing in the air and he punches the dashboard. walk back up to find that the poor guy **** his pants. OOPS

Several drivers have used the excuse that I have to use the bathroom really bad when stopped for speeding. I told them that you passed several restaurants and businesses that you could have stopped at. I told them that excuses like that only work on State Police.

Embarassingly, this happen to me with my daughter. We were driving I-95 coming into Virginia and we were looking for an exit. I didn't realize I was speeding. I always forget the speed drops in Virginia. Anyway, the officer pulled me over, I apologized and explained the situation. I told him that I would accept the ticket, if he could just follow me to the nearest restroom to let her go.

He did. I got a warning, but I would've taken the ticket.

I got profiled in Louisiana a few years back and it was taking a LONG time for him to NOT find any drugs, but al least he let me go into the woods and take care of business.
