I can see that on trash trucks. They stop and go at every house. And with heavy loads, too. And they slam those brakes. The squealing wakes me up every Tuesday morning!

Road Trips are great. There is nothing greater that on the spur of the moment, geting a friend or two, pack up the Suburban and head out with no peticulat place to go and with no map. I used to do that all the time in high school and after when i would have 3-4 day weekends off from school or work.

Now, bc of the laborday weekend, since its the only 4 day weekend ill have while its still summer/fall. I have friday saturday and monday off of classes. So me and a buddy are heading out. Its the last chance well have for over 8 months while i cmplete the academy.

I cant decide what vehicle to take. I just got a new Chevy Silverado Z71, well its used, "new to me" its a 2001. or I may take my 68 Camero. I dont know that I want to put all the miles on the camero seeing that i just finished a complete frame off restoration this past spring and it only has 45 miles on it. But hey whats the point of having a nice car if you dont drive it.

All vehicles 26,001 lbs and up require CDL, and must stop. (in NC)

You are supposed to pull over as your truck may be overweight. Your truck weighs around 16,000 empty and no more than around 24,000 pounds full (numbers may be off). Now if you are moving a full load full of hardcover books you are too heavy for certain bridges and certain roads. It doesn't matter if you are in a non CDL truck or not -- a CDL truck may have a lower gross weight capacity, but have Air Breaks, than an large non CDL truck.

If you were a commerical driver you are supposed to weight your truck before leaving your destination to make sure you are no overweight.

This may vary from state to state but a weight limit on a bridge is a weight limit on a bridge and you are responsible for knowing if your truck is too heavy or not

Sounds like another "April's Fool Day" or would I say a new "July's Fool Day" :D Darrell has more tricks up his sleeve to see if anyone reacts with the old post that he dug up and answered and see if someone will answer and he'll giggle.
