I would report it if the person was falsifying their timecard somehow or causing a safety issue (which he would be if I were relying on him for backup)....
However, as has already been said....we are tracked by our computer logins and GPS. My supervisor can pull up my status at any time and gps me to see where I'm at either through my nextel, portable radio, or car. Not much chance I'm going to be able to sneak off.
It aint gonna happen.

I guess it would depend if he was wearing his hat or not when he left early if I'd report him or not. There are some things I just can't overlook.
Seriously though, it just doesn't happen. If it did. it would only happen once, becauseyou just can't do that without a Sergeant or above noticing. So, it's kind of a moot point whether or not we'd report him. We wouldn't need to..

Just for the record...I have no loyalty for dishonest cops.....
However, people of all professions screw up. I'm not going to screw someone over for an honest screwup...I screw things up all the time (some of mine have changed department general orders).
I think this goes with any profession but especially with law enforcement where there is no manual that can cover all the unknowns that we run into everyday. Originally Posted by Straightshooter
