    ride out questions for leo's

I dont know if any of your department's have an explorer post. But i was just wondering about the different rules and regulations other departments have on explorer ride out's. An incident happened last week where an explorer almost got hurt b/c the bad guy decided he would try and fight with the explorer. So right now all explorer ride out's are cancelled. What do you guys think about the situation?

Sounds like someone should've stayed in the car like he was told. Ride alongs are fine and dandy. Those along for the ride are there to observe, not to get involved on the calls.

I think that department is doing what it has to in order to keep those kids out of harms way as well as limit their liablility.
