okay, im a 17 year old junior in highschool and i plan on become a police officer. However ive had a girl friend for 3 years. One of the questions asked in registering to become a police officer is something about "Since youve been 18 have you had any kind of relation with aminor under the age of 18" Or some thing like that, im turning 18 next week. If i were to answer yes to that question would htat prevent me from becoming a police officer?

If it is against the law where you live, it very well might. Either way, answer the question honestly, because the truth will come out in the background investigation.

There may be different laws from state to state. In TN, if you're over 18, but your "girlfriend" isn't, there can not be more than 2-3 yr difference in age (can't remember which).
Other states may be more stringent.

In Oregon, less than 2 years difference in age is a "defense", but doesn't make it legal nor okay.

It all depends on where you are. Here in VA for instance there is no time period. In PA where I used to live it is legal for someone 18 or over to have sexual relations with a minor if the minor's age was within 3 years of the "adult"'s age. When I took my polygraph here they didn't ask if I had sexual relations with a minor, they asked if I had ever committed any illegal sex act.
