I guess it depends what state your trying to get a job in. In Michigan their is no requirement to take a polygraph. So I would not know what type of questions that may be asked.

But if you are required to take a polygraph test (also known as a lie detector test) be honest. I don't think you can lie and the machine not be able to know it.

    Good Luck

For what it's worth, someone told me a long time ago that they applied for a job in either Texas or California (I believe it was one of these states), and they asked them if they ever did anything with an animal (sexually). I couldn't believe it, but they were dead serious. Maybe it was Missouri. But anyway, once I heard that, I knew I'd never have a chance (Just kidding!!! JOKE!!!). But seriously, I was told that for what it's worth ;)

    Maybe it was LA......hehehehe

    J/K of course.

In my Parish I know that polygraphs are mandatory before getting hired on in LE. Now whether or not its a state wide thing Im really not sure....I haven't taking LA Law as of yet.

    Polygraph!

In Ohio, it depends on the department. Also, when I was applying for a job at BCI, I was told that a polygraph would be required. It was my understanding that they give you a list of the questions you will be asked before they start the test. You can discuss your answer with the examiner prior to the test.

The polygraph is the tool of Satan and those who follow him. Those who use it will be sent to eternal damnation!! Repent for those who have used that vile instrument of evil and deceit. Confess your sins before its too late!!!

Can somebody pass the kool-aid? I'm gettin' kinda thirsty. :D :D

According to my Selection Process sheet I got for a local PD here in Texas, here are the categories of questions for the polygraph:
    • Employment History
    • Credit History
    • Employment Theft
    • Criminal Convictions
    • Serious Crimes
    • Sex Crimes
    • Illegal Drug and Alcohol Use

Of course, your mileage may vary. This list is likely specific to this department. Some departments are apparently in areas where the head gates for cattle are put to other uses.

Are you serious? Guess I'm screwed...well, so was the sheep :D

EDIT: Did they ask if you actually sex with an animal, or did they ask of you've done anything sexual, like fool around with an animal lol?

I think they ask if you've ever had sex with an animal. I have seen numerous cases around here of that kind of thing, so I guess that's why they ask.
