Depends on your agency. We respond to all accidents, we just don't report it to the state if it's on private property and of course the only thing we can do is try to determine if it was reckless in any way to make an arrest if needed.

Same here. We will respond but we just take down the information as a "service"; we don't do an investigation.

People are always upset with us when we won't give out a ticket for improper backing or something similar in the parking lot of the ShopRite.

Thank you everyone for the replies! We are from Oklahoma. As ngcsubutterbar knows, I am not in Oklahoma at the moment :D but my husband is. We just got married and just started saving money for our living. and it would a huge loss to us... One time he had an accident at a mcdonald parking lot and he called the police, but they didn't do anything because it was a private property. I thought it would probably the same this time.

I just talked to my husband and he said that the lady will pay for his deducitiable, which is $500. The rate of his insurance will be higher but at least she will pay for that... I still don't feel like it sounds right, but I cannot do anything. We at least don't have to spend extra money... Thank you very much for your advice.

whether she pays the deductible or not, the insurance company is still going to subrogate them for all the money paid out by the insurance company.
