In order to become a cop

Hi, How are you doing police officers? my name is kihun and i needed to ask you a few questions. right now i'm 19, turning 20 next year in april, and im in US ARMY RESERVES in new jersey. i am trying to become a police. but i can't decide after talking to the town polices saying that state police is not worth it.
i believe nj state police requires 2 yr in active military and at least 60credit from college... how about normal town police department? what is their requirement and how can i get more information about those? i called my town (east brunswick) police department and i asked her if i can volueenteer for cop and she started giving me attitude saying "for what"?? what can u do? " so i ended up hung up....

Currently i am 45Bravo(weapon repairer) and thinking about getting another MOS training for Infantry..
    Also i can speak korean
I am currently going to school but its a community college.

    the question:

    1. where can i get information about police requirements for town?
    2. how much are the salary ? is it like a military by the rank and year?
    3. Pros/ Cons being police
    4. How is the schedules are like?

Depends and differs from one department to the next.

Not exactly sure what you're asking on this question.

Another option to consider....if you speak Korean, have prior military and 2 years of college under your belt....I suggest you do what I wish I would have done and get a 4 year degree. You could get a fairly decent federal job with that kind of background.

www.njlawman.com is a great resource for jersey cops.

Try looking into a class I or II job in jersey, its waiverable and a good foot in the door.
