    Your backseat?

After reading Hutchins "Best gift left in your squad car" http://forums.realpolice.net/showthread.php?t=43495

    I was wondering......

When these POS's do deficate, vomit, and piss in the backseats of your cruisers, I take it you have to clean it up? Man, that's gotta suck.

What kind of seats are in the back of a police cruiser? Are they the regular cloth seats, or some type of special material to make the cleaning of this stuff easier?

They should make the entire back of your cars out of plastic with a freakin drain plug or something so that all you'd have to do is go at it with a hose!

It's gotta be tough not to lose your cool when some POS ****s in the back of your car...., right?

In my experience, it doesnt get cleaned up right away. The car goes back in the lot swapped for a clean one. The car usually sits in the lot for several days in the hot sun with the windows rolled up till some unsuspecting soul decides to use the car. By then things are really nasty. Usually they will have some trustees from the jail clean it up.

Gotta love trustee's!! I don't think anyone from my dep't has cleaned up any of that, you tell the person leaving the mess that his "bunk-mates" for the night will clean up whatever they decide to leave in there, that usually keeps their incontenance at bay until you get to the jail.
Astronomical avatar of the week: The Hourglass Nebula: This formation of gasses was created when a dying star gently ejected its outer layers forming a glowing region of ionized gas as seen in the photo. The remaining core is known as a white dwarf, seen in the center. Our sun will leave a similar corpse behind after expending its nuclear fuel. This nebula is located in the constellation Musca, the fly, visible only in the southern hemisphere.

That's why we have vans with a big perspex and metal cage in the back. Whatever they do you're protected from it and if they scared en route to the Station you can just hose it out.

The other great thing is that they are not restrained in there and there is no padding so every bump and pothole sends them flying about in the cage

I usually drag them through thier mess to help the clean up. Then I clean the rest of it. It doesn't happen that often so I don't flip out over it.

Not here. The car gets tagged with biohazard stickers written up and sent to get cleaned at the garage.

The CV's we used to have had plastic molded seats in the rear. Alot easier to clean out. Our new impalas have standard seats. Not mold, but not cloth either. Cushioned seats with like a plastic cover.
