There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Loud music at 357 West Broad St. ( March 1986) I only only guess that I remember the address is that it sounds and looks a LOT like .357 !!

I don't remember the very first call. I think it was an accident me and my FTO worked.
My first day cut loose however was a torrential down pour. We had flooding and I had to block part of the road for traffic so they wouldn't get swept away or stall out in the high water. After I was done with the flares and directing traffic and the water had come down I went to leave. The shoulder was so soft from the rain my car sank in and was stuck. I had to call a supervisor and a tow to get out. Not a very auspicious start. Other than getting my car stuck numerous times (my LT had a winch on the expedition he drove and enjoyed puzzles I created with my car for him) my luck has been much better.

My first call was to our Information Desk to execute a CAPIAS Warrant on someone that was turning himself in. I believe the reason for the warrant was a failure to appear in court. I had done it countless times in during FTO, so it was second nature...without adult supervision.
My SECOND dispatch was off the hook though...shots fired during a fight.
I arrived on scene to find a person on the verge of death from loss of blood, all sorts of people standing around screaming and hollering and a shooter on the loose. I was just glad that I wasn't the first to arrive and that a couple of veterans were already there and controlling the situation.
I remember it like it was last month. Wait a sec, it was last month...
A 911 abandonment. Went to the address, all was well and after getting some info I left! Tough job but someone has to do it :D
