thank you all for your responses, and i think you may have misunderstood what i'm saying. i'm not trying to sue the police officer or get a quick buck, but this arrest was excessive in force to my other two arrests by far.

my license was suspended for failure to appear and my misdemeanor warrant was for failure to pay fines/fees. the previous two times i was arrested, the cop simply came up to my window, asked me to step out and put my hands on the hood of the car while i was frisked. i was then cuffed and walked back to the cruiser.

WHY WASN'T THIS PROCESS SUFFICIENT FOR THIS ARREST? i had warrants last time too.

what i was curious of was if this type of procedure was truly necessary, especially since i was injured when thrown to the ground.

i realize police officers must preserve their lives first, but do you really have to whip out a gun for an arrestee of simple traffic violations?

another question: how long do you usually leaves cuffs on an arrestee during the booking process? and the booking procedure i went through was kind of odd. what is your station's common policy or procedure?

i'm sorry if i'm being disrespectful. i have so much respect for the police profession and i've simply been caught on the wrong side for some stupid driving problems. anyway, i'm going back to jail for hopefully the last time lol.

Like I said, we aren't getting the whole story. Go away, unless you feel the urge to divulge it all.

You stated in your first post that you weren't sure if he had his gun drawn or not. You just THOUGHT he did. If you didn't know for sure, then why are you claiming now that he did. OR were you not following directions as stated so you did indeed see a gun. Which would mean that you were not being 100% cooperative and the officer did exactly as he should have.

I'll pretend, just this once, that this troll is serious. The officer did nothing wrong. Some officers feel comfortable with the way your other two arrests were done. The fact that you've been arrested now three times should be a wake up call for you but I guess not. The officer on the third did it his way. No "excessive force" was used. You were not beaten while in handcuffs, sprayed, tased or anything else. You were merely placed on the ground and cuffed. As for the scrapes on your chest, wear a shirt. Whenever skin comes in contact with pavement, that will happen. (arrested 3 times, no shirt when arrested this last time, sounds like the classic trailer trash arrest on COPS).

We don't get second chances to be wrong. It's obvious that you do not respect the law, if you did, you wouldn't have the W/A on the system. You were dealt with, even by your own account, with dignity and respect by that member.
You didn't get hurt, and your still breathing, so suck it up...and move on with your life

I've arrested people 2 ways. "please put your hands behind your back" or they've been tackled on the ground, and forced into handcuffs. Be glad yours was somewhere in between, and not the latter.

the police officer yelled at me to open the door from the outside and step out with my hands on my head. i did as he said, and then he told me to walk backwards and then get on my knees. i did this also. he came up (i think he had his gun drawn, but i couldn't see because my back was facing him) and forced my chest down to the pavement of the road. i was shirtless and my chest was obviously kind of scratched up after the incident. anyway, he cuffed me up and dragged me back to his cruiser where i was thoroughly searched and then put in the backseat.

i'm not sure whether he thought i had a weapon or not or he was just taking precautions because i'm a young man and he thought i may have been volatile or drunk after a night of partying (which i wasn't), but i think this may have been extremely excessive force. what do you think? do you think i could take legal action against the officer? how would you have handled my arrest?
thanks for answering my question, officers. i respect everything you do. i'm in arizona, by the way.

Big Question. Does he have a Mullet?

No excessive force IMO. And if you do meet the profile of ChesCopPodz you'll probably settle any law suit out of court for a case of Natural Lite and a Carton of Camel straights.

haha i guess i deserve that (even though i'm a college student), but again, i really mean no disrespect and i don't see why i would be banned from this forum for asking a simple question, even though i now see it's an extremely STUPID question.
