    A good question...

I was wondering about something. It is quite obvious that drinking and driving is illegal. It is also illegal to be drunk in public. I know these things. THis makes me wonder how people are supposed to get home from the bar? Are we expected to always have the money to call for a cab? I know that some cab companies will take you home for free but that is not the case in my town. Please if someone could help me out on this topic. I am really curious to see what you all have to say about it. Thank you in advance for your replies.

Simple, if you don't have enough money for a cap, or someone else to drive you, Don't get intoxicated.

You had enough money to buy enough drinks to get drunk at the bar BUT you don't have the money for a cab? Sounds like better budgeting skills are needed.

I'm sure it is, it's not gunna fly when your stopped for dui and the excuse is "I didn't have enough money for a cab."

If you want to go to a bar and drink you need to be responsible enough to arrange for a designated driver beforehand, or call for a cab or a sober friend to come pick you up when you are ready to go home.

Honestly, is that so hard to understand?

No, that's the general opinion of any human with common sense. Get a cab or go with a friend. Why would you go to a bar and get trashed alone? Why do you think many places give Designated Drivers non-alcoholic drinks for free? That's not a "bummer," that's called using your brain and staying safe. If you're going to go drink and then drive you might as well save the money on the alcohol and just play russian roulette with your life and everyone else's on the road.

The thing is LA is he actually has to use his brain to be able to put two and two together. Apparently he needs to be told that he is not suppose to go to the bar, and then drive home drunk.

What? Are you hearing yourself? It's not the police putting a burden on you, we didn't order you to go out and drink then expect you to pay for a cab.

We expect you to not drive while impaired or suffer the consequences.
