I once yelled to a fleeing theft suspect on my PA system..." stop or I'll send my dog after you ! ". He did stop and came back to my car where I arrested him for being drunk in public ( he tried to take a checkered flag from a gas station NASCAR promotion) . He never did think to ask where my dog was when I put him in the back of my car.

I used that one a time or two...before I had a dog! LOL.

Now I grin and wait for then to call my bluff! This rarely happens though, because my partner barks too much. When I give the warning, the barking gets out of control! She gets all fired up, knowing that we are about to bite a turd!!! They always stop!

I used to work with a guy who would bark like a dog when he got into a foot pursuit, "STOP! Or I'll let the dog go! WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF." If you saw it you'd die laughing seeing him barking and chasing someone. Never worked as far as I knew...

Oh to answer another question I live in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I don't quite know the laws about it just yet. I am going to try and find out soon though. THat guy was back the other night. He tried to get in my back door. I ran out the front door with a bat screaming and he ran off. It scared the heck out of my wife though. SOmetimes she alone all night just her and my kids. I told the police again but they can only patrol over here every now and then. We live in the country.
