To 'besafe2', if in fact you were an 'le 30 years ago'...and, 'you have several le friends', then you KNOW the LE mindset.
If the above is true, then you already know the answer to your question......why do you even bother asking this here?

Most of us have been lied to more times than we can remember....and don't fall for lines like that any more.Originally Posted by besafe2

If you guys won't be safe I don't think I could go on with life!!!
Sorry, but, when have I ever been 'huggy?'
Never...... :DOriginally Posted by codered
You all need a group hug!
Mike, you worry me.
I wonder how much of the story you weren't told? Like he got stopped for 53 in a 45 but the officer did cut him a break and lowered it to 48/35? Or he had an attitude and pulled the "I'm an applicant give me professional courtesy" line. Maybe he didn't say anything until the ticket was issued and it was too late for a break since all the paperwork is tracked? What if the kid was dumb enough to tell the officer he was an FBI applicant? :DOriginally Posted by besafe2
Even if the story was true you should know that if the supervisor tells you to go write speeding tickets somewhere you better turn in some stats. Maybe the officer had just let two cops go and knew his sgt would want to know why he was pulling people over and not writing them?
There are so many what-ifs in the scenario it's impossible to know what really was going on without being there.
I think most cops would be inclined to cut some breaks in that situation but I can think of very little that would keep me from writing an applicant though. They would be at the bottom of my courtesy extension, especially if my boss was looking for stats.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
I had a woman in the holding cell Wed. and all she did was tell me about wanting to be in LE. Blah blah blah.... and I'm on the fire dept and on the SAR and blah blah.... After the observation period and I was getting ready to give her the breath test, she asked..."How long am I going to lose my license. This is my second DUI in the past three years?" Give him a ticket!!

I am sorry you feel that way. Any way I want to thank you all for the replies. I respect each one & each of you. Again thanks for all you do & your service each day.Originally Posted by FSCF3801
Like I said earlier with one exception the officers I know are not big into tickets as they are so short handed & can hardly keep up with the calls for service. That exception is my friend who my family & I have know him & his family at least 15 years. He works all the fatals. I doubt he would even cut me a break....Thanks again all.
Please know that I pray for each of you daily. Be very careful out there & BE SAFE.
