    hit and run??

i hit a pedestrian not in a crosswalk, (didnt injure) him, left the scene but caught back up with him like 2-3 mintues later. He said he was ok and everything was alright. Is this still a hit and run? I saw him on the phone when coming up to him, and want to know if he could have gotten my plate number called the cops, in that time and just not told me. Could i have a warrant right now?

What, did he run after you hit him, so you chased him down again??

If he didn't, he should have. Then he should have called his lawyer.

An accident report would be done. Reports are not required for warrants however.

Yes they would. It is likely they didn't, based on what you're saying. It appears since the person did not report it, they are out of luck at this point.

If he was calling the cops, then you will more than likely be contacted by the police very soon. In which you will be more than likely charged with leaving the scene of an accident. If their were ANY injuries (from you or the pedestrian) it would be a felony charge in North Carolina.

Your best bet would have been (and at this time still is) to call the local Police/Sheriff Dept. and tell them what happened......
Because once they have to find you, it's too late.....and you will end up in jail for Failing to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident.

    Asked and answered.

With the one-sided, empty information provided here, no more can be said.

On his way to a party, OH, why didn't you say so before. That makes it all better and "A O K'." There's a loophole in the law that allows you to hit someone who is on their way to partake of alcohol. Especially if you saw them before you hit them.
