    Info on Arizona?

Hey, was wondering if any of you LEO had any perspectives on potential employment (as a LEO) in Scottsdale, Mesa or Gilbert, Arizona. I noticed that each of those departments (to name a few) were hiring...

Anybody here a LEO in Arizona? Just looking for some cursory information (i.e. rigors of the process, academy info, etc.).

Mesa isn't a bad dept, right now though due to budget issues and things of that nature morale is swirling around the toilet. Gilbert is a good dept. Trying to catch up to the explosive growth in the city but not a lot of complaints I have heard. Scottsdale is good as well. Lots of good equipment.

Depending on your background, the academy can be more or less challenging. You will spend hours on end in class, and more hours on end running and doing pt. When you go home, you have to study and write and write more. I believe it is up to 18 weeks now and is not live in.
My wife left me alone with a case of Corona, a bag of limes and the cat. Beer is gone. What will I do with the extra limes and the cat?

I moved up north to avoid the heat of the valley.... damn it is hot down there =\

They are, for the most part, good agencies in the valley. I do know Chandler and Gilbert offer the biggest PITA written exam I have ever seen! I usually get 95% or better on written tests, and I have yet to pass either of theirs.

Just put in everywhere, and do alot of research. This is a good start, but I dunno how many folks here are valley officers.
