After reading various posts on here for about an hour, it seems like me posting a fairly general, and probably already asked, question will still be acceptableIt is somewhat unique to my particular situation, though. Thank you for any advice!!
First off, I am 22 years old, I am in college (5th year senior) as a psychology major, and I currently work as a waitress. I've known for a couple of years that I was very interested in law enforcement, particularly on the Federal level. My first step, though, will be local. I cannot think of a better way to put this, but there are a few extenuating circumstances hindering me from finishing college in a timely manner. In fact, I am in a position now where my best bet would be to take time off and get out in the working world before going back to school. What I wonder is if it is possible to apply as a LEO at this point in time. I do have an advanced high school diploma with a 3.9 GPA there if it might make a difference. I am also willing to relocate within about 100 miles of my home (maybe more at a later date).
Secondly, I have had people ask me why I am not going to further my education in graduate studies. And, frankly, I just cannot afford it. I heard a rumor that certain agencies (granted, I'm sure you will have to work there for a set amount of time first) will pay for you to continue on in school, is this true? I would love to get a Master's degree at some point, and maybe then move on to the FBI.
These are the two major things on my mind right now, I am sure I will have plenty more, but thanks for any help you can share on these matters![]()
