    About Being an MP

Hi everyone, I have been interested in being in Law Enforcement since about the 5th grade. I have heard about the Military police, and i heard PD's love Military in your background so i thought YAY!!! But, the only problem is that i know very little about it, whats the difference between city PD and an MP? What do MP's do? What Branch of the military is an MP? I tried to look this info up on the net and couldn't find much at all. Thanks Much In advance! P.S. Cops Rule ;) Cya!!!

MP's are just what they sound like Miltary Police. Civilian police ( like me) would have no authority on a Government base and the same goes for the MP's off base. They do a similar job as I do but certainly with a military emphasis. They respond to calls for service, handle crash investigations, go to domestic disturbances etc. Each base is like a small town.

The Army has MP's. The Air Force has Security Forces, the Navy has Shore Patrol and the Marines have MP's. Contact a recruiter from each of the branches to find out how they work.
