Qualifying with your weapon?

How often do you have to qualify with your weapon. The Department I want to get hired on with (Illinois State Police) has to qualify once a year and I am curious to see how often you guys have to. Thanks for your time

We fire as a Department 4 times a year, with quals occurring twice a year.

The USMS does it a minimum of 2x/year, while SRTs often make it required 4x/year.

POST rules will make it mandatory x2 a year. We already do that. Hell I just got done qualifying for the 3rd time on the dept's course and I just started on the 10th.

Missouri POST requires that we do it at least once a year. We have done it 3 times this year....and did it about 10 times last year. Just kinda depends with us......

The state (N.C.) requires we do it once a year, although they will be changing that shortly to twice a year, and also having to qualify on a combat course as well.

We are required to go once a year but we do it twice a year.

We shoot our G-23's , AR-15's and Remington 870's. Overall, it's a nice way to kill a day off and get paid.

Oregon law requires at least once every 13 months, we qualify twice a year though on all weapons carried.

I guess I should add, it's not a day off for us. We have our range in the basement of the the main police station. You go there while on duty, qualify, clean your weapons and go back to work.
