    I'm in danger

hello, i am new here. i came here to ask advice on something so here it is.
a few nights ago someone shot at the cops in my area. i live in a dangerous neighborhood where thier are a lot of shootings. the next day thier was about 25 cops in the court asking people questions. now i like cops and had a few as friends growing up so i never thought about not talking to them. after i did talk to them thier were some guys accross the street who saw me do so and after the cops left they started to threaten my life. when the cops came back around they told me to call and make a report and that thier was nothing they could do about it at the time. so i called and made a report and with-in 2 hours a cop came to my door and asked who it was and all. since the guys were still outside at the time i told him who it was. the guy ended up being arrested becuse i guess he ither threatend or hit the cop. now thier are alot of peeple in my court angry at threatining me and all. im to scared to call the cops if i did have any info on any shootings or drug dealings that are going on and stuff. i also have not left my apt. since that day. i am so scared and dont know what to do. is it wrong to not tell the police if something is going on? if so, how can i tell the police knowing that i could be killed? expecially if the cops come to my door and all. any suggestion or help will be helpfull. thankyou.

Only YOU can decide what is best for you. We the police cannot guard you 24/7. If you are in fear of your life and the underlying reason for the fear is retribution by your "neighbors" , than you will have to decide how far you are willing to go.

Do we want you to give us info ? Sure. Do we want you to get hurt because of it , NO.

first of all, i cant go to school or work due to right now i am on ssi. secondly i have no "parents to ask to move". as far as my typing goes, at least its better than the rudness i've encountered on her.
as far as work and school goes, i am looking forward to doing both come next year when i do move. untill then i still have to save my money and stay safe some how.

hey arcade. thanks for the suggestion. should i get a gun? what about a bullet proof vest? if so where can i get one at? also, is thier a way i could tell the police things without them knowing who i am and stuff? or would all that just be lighting the fire more?

Apparently, the arcade is giving this person suggestions.

The arcade won't even let me score higher than 5100 on Tetris, but it's telling this person to buy a gun and a vest.

    I feel deprived. ;)

If you can't afford to move how can you afford a gun? If you need a gun to protect your life you don't need some rusted piece of **** a crackhead sold you for $20, you need to go to a gun store and buy a well built gun suitable for defending yourself with. After you shell out that money you will most definitely need to take classes to learn the legal issues with using a gun as well as basic marksmanship with it. Then you need to practice with it. Without all of that it is an expensive boat anchor that will be taken from you and used against you. Gun battles are not like tv, thugs trying to kill you aren't going to quake with fear when you pull a gun on them.

With the logistics and expense of actually buying a gun and becomming proficient you might as well move.

The police appreciate the help you have provided them and you are doing your community and society a favor by your actions. Unfortunately you have put yourself in a position where the thugs now resent you. Often times they are cowards and retribution against witnesses is fairly rare --but it does happen.

I think that by far the safest thing you can do is move out ASAP. If you are on SSI there are other neighborhoods you can live it. Get some friends to help you move all your crap. Unfotunately any other neighborhood you can afford is going to have the same kinds of low lifes in it. I would sugest that in the future you call the police and make arrangements to meet with officers at another location. Or you can go down to the police department and speak to someone there. Standing in your courtyard discussing the criminal behavior of your neighbors is putting you in a bad spot.

wow, i didnt know that guns and the vests are so expensive. next time i will ask them to meat elsewhere or go down to the station. but i am afraid if i do that they still might come to my door and stuff.
as far as moving it isnt priceless. i still have to pay first and last month rent/deposite. that is $640 (at least) for the first month and usually the same for deposite. with that much money i can move to alaska...almost. i already have $400 saved for the move anyhow.
i didnt know all about that if i did get a gun valor55. thanks for the info big time. i think i wont get one. sounds like to much trouble.
i hope in my case that the rataliation part is the rare. i dont like trouble.

well first of all, i am used to typing in chatrooms where we dont type in capital letters. as for my spelling abilities i have never been a good speller. as far as my being a kid...thankyou. not very often does someone give me that type of compliment. and yes, i am a legal adult living alone with my cat nebula. but if you still arnt sure checkout yahoo profiles and you will see my picture (with my dummy danny) and i hope that convinces you that i am an adult.

Well DC I didn't know that you had standards here on this form. And i wans't demanding that you accept my "standard of writting". You asked me about my spelling and use of lower case letters. And as far as this not being a chatroom I fully realize that. After all, I'm not stupid. But if you would like to list the standards, I will be fully happy to respect them.

P.S. I hope you appreciate my use of using caps instead of lower case letters. I will try to type like this from now on in here. Is that ok with you?

Well first of all, it seams to me that you and only you have a problem with me. Why I don't know. Mabey you have a problem with everyone. Mabey thats just the way you are....rude. As for the "standards", every board that I have posted on have each thier own "standards" of doing things. As far as for me "writting like a normal human being with a basic education" I have and am still doing so. Not everyone is or has the same writting standards as you do. As far as earning enough money to move to a better neighborhood, well, you know nothing about me to even begin to judge my situation.
All I did was come in here to ask advice about a problem, and all you have done is to attack me. I am just glad that all cops are not like you. If they were this world would be in trouble.
My advice to you is not to be so rude.
Anyhow, now that some people on here decided to answer my questions helpfully, I thank them and take thier advice to heart.
Be safe out on patrol, and I wish you all a great week.

Nope. I have not posted here yet but I agree with the others, DC specifically.
