    Do i have a better chance?

    im applying to become a police office in yonkers new york.
    I heard that they are recruiting people from other towns temporarily because they are on a shortage of officers. I was wondering if you think this means i have a better chance of becoming an officer.

    p.s. Is there any way i can find out how many positions are available and how many applicants i am up against?

    EVERY dept. everywhere recruits from " other towns". Not even NYPD limits their job openings to NYC. You have no better chance because of this , you need to be able to pass their tets , interview and background check like anyone else.

    Call the PD directly ( not via 911 !) and ask , or check on their website. Typically they will post at least some info.

    Please tell me you weren't really so dumb as to dial 911 to ask a question about police recruiting. If you did, it is fairly obvious why you haven't been picked up by an agency.
