I'm trying to
get started on collecting patches. But since I really don't have any to trade --and am only 15(so therefore, have no money;))--I would need some help!
ANyhow, I was wondering--would you think that police departments, if I wrote to them, saying I wanted to get started on this, if they would send me one of their own? I really don't know if this would be allowed and/or done, so....
Any help appreciated. TIA

Actually, badge/patch collecting is done frequently among police, either between agencies them selves, or individual people. I'm sure that if you write to several departments, they will glady send you a badge or two. Also, you may want to try and contact the Toronto, Ontario, police department. A year or so ago they were collecting badges from across Canada, so maybe they can provide with addresses of several of the departments. Also, they might be able to supply you with some badges. Good luck!

I always wanted to get started in police patch collecting, but I never was eager enough to start. Anyway, even if you have little money and you trust the sellers on Ebay.ca, you can find police patches for cheap and there are lots of police patch sellers located in Canada to help keep the cost down!
