I'm looking into applying as a Federal Agent with NNSA (National Nuclear Security Administration) as a Nuclear Materials Courier, very few people even knew these Agents exist. I was wondering if anyone on this board works for them?

No one here that I know of works for DOE or NNSA. I know a little about the position, as I inquired about it about a year ago and received a brochure. If you have any specific questions, PM me and I'll do my best.Originally Posted by tommygunz_us

Also, the Federal Agent position you are inquiring about- I believe- is under NNSA's Office of Secure Transportation. Here's a link to the brochure they have with some good intel about the position: http://www.doeal.gov/opa/Emergency%2...Sfactsheet.pdf

I work with a guy who was one. Simple terms: armed truck driver...trasnporting sensitive goods...known among the trucking community as "shadow truckers." People know they exist, see the trucks, but nobody knows what they carry and they are not subject to DOT trucking rules: time limit on the road, mandated stops, etc. They are also not detainable by law enforcement for traffic violations or inspections. When stopped, they give the officer an informational sheet, with a phone number and contact....and they are to be called. Rigs are monitored by computer and satellite and can be tracked adn engine speeds and brake pressure known, etc.....
-In God we trust. All others, put your hands on the car and don't move.
We recently had a class about them due to their increased presence in our area.
Talk about boredom!!!
