Hell, half my family back in Texas has been a participant in the Texas Correctional System, and not civil service! I'm the one that went astray! None of that hurt me in the least when I got hired nor did it hurt me in the military.
One funny story though. When I was in basic, they had us filling out more forms and one of the questions was "Have you or any member of your family been involved in a conspiracy to overthrow the government of the United States?"
Well, smartass here put yes because my great grandfather fought with the 13th Alabama Regiment in the Civil War. I thought that was hilarious. I didn't for very long.... Geez, I was interviewed by the FBI and CID four or five different times during my hitch. :eek:
