Past Drug use question??

Hello everyone!
I am currently in the process of trying to become a LEO here in south FL. I have a question on what I should write on my application about past drug use. When I was younger I did experiment with Marijuana and I have tried Cocaine before as well as Ecstacy. I smoke pot maybe 5-7 times and tried the others once. I was never a drug person and just tried this stuff because my friends were doing it. Its been 9 years since I tried cocaine and 6 years since I tried the others. I want to be truthful on my application but I dont want to DQ myself before I even get an interview. Can someone please help me out? If anyone else has done these things or anything like them and still got hired, can you please tell me what you put down on your app. Also, I've always stayed out of trouble, never been arrested and I am a very resonsible person now that I'm all grown up. Please help.

You put nothing but the truth down on your application. If you are planning on going into this by patching up the bad spots, you're in the wrong business to begin with. It will eventually come out in the BI.

Unfortunately for you, that's an automatic DQ with my department. In my opinion, and coming from a law enforcement family, wanting to be an LEO is pretty much thought out early in life. That's when you should have minded your P's and Q's.

Doing any kind of drugs is a bad thing. It's sure to catch up with you in the future if you ever want to amount to anything. Sorry, just my two cents.

Depends some on how old you were then and now. The ectasy is not a good thing.

X and Cocaine are automatic DQ's at every department I know of. There are a FEW who might let you in with 1 cocaine try or one X try, but trying both X and cocaine? Time to go look for a new career.
