Different Questions about Car Window Tinting

OK, I'm going up to the city on Monday to get my car windows tinted. Basically, I live in southern Arizona where 90% of all cars have window tint for two reasons: 1) to protect the interior of the car from sun damage and, 2) to protect the people in the car from sun damage (think of the windows being like a magnifying glass on an ant lol).

Now, I can't say that I will or will not get pulled over for anything, but I thought about this today... When you have window tint put on your car you can't roll down your windows for 48 hours or the tint has to be removed and reapplied because it won't set properly. If I am ever pulled over, I would pull over to the side of the road, turn on my hazards and dome light, then roll down the driver's window. Well, if I was pulled over on the way home from getting it tinted, I couldn't roll down the window or else it would be ruined.

So, can anybody recommend a way for me to talk to the LEO if I happen to be pulled over that won't get the LEO worried (e.g. opening the door)? After I get into town I'll be fine because my deputies know my new car, but I can't guarantee anything outside of my town. Especially because I still have temp tags. lol

    Thanks everybody! Cheers. =O)

Dont do anything that would get you pulled over.

keep your hands on the wheel and CRACK the door slowly. let the officer know that you cant roll the window down. I get people who cant roll the windows down all the time, they just drive POS's that just dont work.
Its all fun and games 'till someone puts out an eye. Then its just fun.

I think you're a little too paranoid. What are the odds of an officer pulling you over right after you windows are tinted? Do you get pulled over on a daily basis? I think you're worrying about something that doesn't need to be worried about.

But, as the others have said, as the officer approaches, slowly open the door and as soon as you can, advise him/her that you can't roll your windows down. Or, if you're too nervous to do that, wait till they get up on the window and yell it. That way, they will tell you when (and how) to open the door.

Thank you R1364 and scott715us for your advice. Just for your FYI, I'm not some thug gang-banger or something and I don't get pulled over everyday. As I said in my first post, you never know when/if you're going to get pulled over. I think we all know you need very little RS to pull over anyone. While I seriously doubt that I will be, it's one of those "what if" questions which would be a valid reason for any LEO to get worried when someone wouldn't roll down their window and they couldn't see inside the vehicle.

I thought this would be a somewhat easy question to be answered on here and it would be a simple as that without the loads of sarcasm and preconceptions. Stupid me, I don't wear a badge, so anything I say is worthless. What was I thinking?

    Thanks anyway.

Simple, but case in point: I bought my new car last Monday and I drove it home. I rolled into town around 8pm at night. The car I bought is beige and is a 4-door sedan, not exactly a hot rodder by any stretch. I drove the speed limit, obeyed the traffic laws. About 2 miles into town our newest deputy pulled me over for an "unreadable tag" because it was in my rear window instead of where a regular plate goes (temp tags get ruined in water, it was supposed to rain that night). When he came up to the window he said that he didn't know it was me because he didn't recognize the car. (Of course he wouldn't, I worked with him once for an 8-hours shift, he's only been here for 3 days at the time and I just bought the car. lol)

While having the temp tag in the rear window isn't illegal because it is still clearly visible and complies with our state title on traffic laws in every way, it's still RS to pull over my car because he couldn't read it from his. ;O)

    Cheers.
