    any time or energy?

I'm currently employed as a real est. agnt. I was wondering if I could keep this career going part time and still be a full time police officer. Most of the PD's around here have a schedual where they work 4days on and 3days off the rest of them are 3days on 4days off. Will I be too tired to do anything else or will police work even take up my time on my days off? I'm in northern cali.

My agency has lots of officers that sell real estate part time. Just don't try during the academy or field training. It's best to focus on the task at hand during this time.

    Good Luck!

Yeah, I'm going to stop when I start the academy and probably come back after my first year, or at least after FTO. Where do you work? If you dont want to say, I understand. Thanks for the quik reply!

NO offense but if I wanted to buy/sell a house I wouldn't want a part-time agent working for me. I would want someone who does it full time.

Good luck with your career desires , maybe after you are an LEO you might decide to pick up some LEO related OT. Some places pay pretty good for official babysitting.

It seems that real estate is a second income for lots of Officers that I know. Generally it is not in the form of showing homes to potential buyers, but buying them and renting out. Several guys in El Paso make more money doing that than being full time officers. They bought duplexes and rent them to incoming officers.
A bit of advice, coming into LE requires 100% dedication in order to learn the job, and more importantly to stay alive. Those officers that I mentioned above didn't do anything except their LE job for the first 3-4 years. You need that much time to really break into the job, culture, and tricks of the trade. Do one or the other, and do it well. Once you have time and experience under your belt, you might want to get back into real estate. Just my $0.02, never the gospel.
