Here is a great thing, especailly for the NYPD. There is usually a list of ORIGINAL documents youmust bring to your BI to inspect, from drivers license to selective service card to diplomas to certificates, etc....
Most show up with the documents in a pile. 1 in ten will show up with the document, and paperclipped to it, is a crystal clear and readable copy of the document with both sides copied. The BI can compare the original to the document and verify authenticity and take a copy only if necessary or wanted. That saves a NYPD BI about 30 minutes of BS...and will put you on their good list of canidates to remember and go the extra mile for if something develops. It shows initiative.
Otherwise, if you want to get a jump, I suggest making the following lists so you have info ready when asked without scrambling:
-all addresses you ever lived at
-list of all employers inclduing dates, addresses, phone numbers, supervisor names
-list of all educational institutions, including name, address and phone.
-official copies of transcripts of all schools attended in a sealed envelope to you.
-list of all states and licenses you had, including license numbers.
-list of all vehicles you ever owned.
-check your credit report and clear up and problems.
-updated list of references including name, address & phone (day & evening if possible)
With this, you should be properly prepared.
-In God we trust. All others, put your hands on the car and don't move.
