Secondary Training

I'm looking to better my resume to get on with the local police department but here's my deliema. There are a few good law enforcement academies in my area which I'm told by a realtive who's on the force is the exact cirriculum( :confused: ) they teach when enlisted but also teach how to pass the interviews etc. Should I spend the $7000 CAN to take the course, go get a university diploma, or just go for it? My relative who got accepted is 22 and never took any post-secondary or secondary training.

That's a lot of money to shell out for training, but I imagine that it is good training. But IMO, it's better to have the degree. You will get the training once you get hired, but you won't get the degree as easily after.
